BUT I know you are all waiting to hear the WINNER of my blog candie for LEAP27 . . . and by random draw (aka. me putting everyone's name into a hat and getting my kids to draw one out) . . . the winner is KAY WALLACE!!!! Whoot! Whoot! This was Kay's beautiful card based on my hop sketch. I love the earthy tones of the card, the perfectly stamped tree, and the pure elegant simplicity of the card overall. Way to go, Kay!
Here is the RAK that will be sent to Kay - hope you enjoy it!!!
And so now we are into March - unbelievable!! Only two weeks until Spring is officially here, but wait, what is this? One of the many reasons I love living in Vancouver . . . the first signs of Spring in the last week of February! The crocus' are poppin' up like crazy around here and it's just beautiful. Through all the dreary rain there is the promise of a beautiful Spring and Summer:
What else does March bring to the lower mainland? Well the wrap up of soccer season of course! I know the rest of the "normal" world (at least the Canadian world anyhow!), hosts their soccer season in Summer, but here we start in September and finish the first week of March. It is a long season but with the occassional weather interruption we do not get to play every weekend so I think it about evens out with the number of games one would play thru the summer. And if we are lucky enough to have a very mild fall/winter, then we definatelty get our money's worth and who can complain about that?!
So this past weekend was the Mini Soccer Jamboree for my two kids. My daughter, Jessica, unfortunately was not feeling well so she missed out on her games, but cheered from the sidelines. My son, Tyler, however, was thrilled to play in his very first tournament, finishing off his very first year in soccer. Here he is playing his favourite position, goalie:
And when the games were all over the coach gave each of the kids a soccer ball to keep! I think this was more exciting to Tyler than the medals!
Although, he still loved the medal too . . . here he is getting his medal from Coach Jay, and I just love the look on his face - he sure loved his coach!
So I'm sending out a big CONGRATULATIONS again to Kay Wallace for her Blog Hop win, to Jessica and her team, The Panthers, and to my newest soccer star, Tyler and his team, The All Stars!!!
