Let's Scrap Card Sketch with Bo Bunny and a Design Team Call

I missed posting last week's Let's Scrap card sketch so here it is:

Here is my version:

I used some of my scraps from Bo Bunny's Ad Lib collection - LOVED that collection and had a ton of it!!  The blue string and bow is CTMH's Crystal Blue Waxy Flax (retired) and I love how it holds it shape so well!  Using this sparingly since I can't get more!

And here is this week's sketch, which I have not had the chance to work with yet but hope to tonight or tomorrow :-)

And if you want more sketches, here is the sketch for the open Design Team Call going on right now till Aug.25th.  Check out Let's Scrap for more details and I hope you apply, it is such an awesome team to be part of!!

I have re-applied for another term and hope to be working with some of you soon!!!

Happy Scrappin'!!

Fireworks, Parks, Friends, Camping, Family, Photos, and CTMH CRICUT!!!

LOVE summertime, but goodness it gets busy fast!!  NOT that I'm complaining though, we've had great family time, visitors, and camping trips so far and the summer is still at it's beginning!!!

For Canada Day we went downtown to the Legislature Grounds to watch the Fireworks -BUT had to go for a swim in the fountain first!!  Fully clothed of course!!  Good thing the fireworks don't last too long, cuz the kids were just a bit cold from being soaking wet!

Then we had some friends visit from Vancouver and we checked out a local park we had not been to yet - Jackie Parker Park - WHOA!!!  What a cool park!!!  HUGE and so much for the kids to do, we already have plans to go back again and again!

Last year we bought the kids some rollerblades but they didn't get much chance to use them and learn, but after a winter of hockey and ice skating they were naturals on their blades come summer!  As a family we decided to rollerblade thru the River Valley a couple weekends ago and what fun that was!  I had not been on my rollerblades in eons but I survived the whole two hours (barely!) and took a ton of photos of the beautiful River Valley.  Can't wait to go again!!

Lastly, our latest camping trip we just got back from - we went to Old Mac Donald Camp Ground, a place that definitely caters to families in a big way!  Animals to pet, train rides, go karts, arcade, mini golf, playgrounds, beach, crafts - so much to choose from, and most of it is free or minimally priced.  It was an interesting mix of modern and blast from the past scenery/atmosphere - I kept looking for watermelon's to carry or Patrick Swayze to come and offer me dance lessons!

Kids favourite part was definitely their beach day and go karting with Dad!

Back at the campsite a favourite was playing UNO . . . with Fuzzy and Wuzzy, the two caterpillar's the kids caught (AND took home with them!) . . . hint, look at the deck of cards in the middle!

One of MY favourite parts of our trip was the gorgeous prairie  scenery and sky - my Iphone got a workout for sure!  My Instagram account will be flooded soon!

Now home to do laundry, clean and prep for our next trip - heading home to Vancouver to see family and friends!!  Maybe even get some scrapping done before we go!

Speaking of scrapping, I posted some more sneak peek's on my CTMH Facebook page - another Cricut cartridge!!!!  Check it out HERE!!!

Photos for Close To My Heart Chantilly Layouts!!

Blah!  I really don't like being sick, especially in the summer when all my kids want to do is go out and play!  Hoping for a good nights sleep and feeling better tomorrow!!

One good pick me up though is getting photos onto my Close To My Heart Chantilly Workshop layouts!!  Just have to share them with you as well:

I am so happy with how they turned out!!  These photos are from two summers ago and it was great to finally have a layout to put them on that compliments them so well!  I do love the "irony" in the bottom one though . . . can you spot it???

Page Drafts "Be Bold" Thank You Sketch Challenge

It is 2:20am and I cannot sleep :-(  BUT that is not all together a bad thing, for I just realized I had not linked my layout to Page Drafts Thank You challenge and it ends in about 18 hours!!  Since I'll probably end up sleeping late and forgetting tomorrow (well, today!), I may as well put my insomnia to work :-)

If you have not yet checked out Page Drafts and their awesome sketches, click HERE to do so!  I've only had the chance to do a couple so far, but I love their sketches and will definitely do more!!

As I mentioned, they are running a Thank You sketch challenge right now with the theme of Be Bold.  Here is the sketch:

See what I mean?  Awesome sketch!!!  Makes doing a rare single page layout just that much easier for me! ;-)  And here is my version/entry:

My little nephew and his insistence that he was still one on his 2nd birthday!  Love him and all his stubbornness so!!

School's Out, Time for Camping and Scrapbooking with Dream Pop!!

Oh, tsk! tsk! to me!!  I did not realize it had been so long since I posted!  Well let me get caught up here, on this hottest day of the year, sitting here in the dark, all my windows and doors open and fans blowing just trying to stay as cool as possible!  Oh, and did I mention there is a big ol' storm brewing too?!  Got to love prairie weather, some impressive storms here for sure!

Well, the kids finished up school last week and come fall I am going to have a Grade 4 and a Grade 1 kid!!  They both did AMAZING on their report cards and made this Momma super proud :-)  Now to enjoy this summer cuz with both kids being in school full time come September, this Momma bear needs to go back to work!!  This thought truly freaks me out!  I haven't worked in 9 years and I LOVE being home with my kiddos, but it is time for a change for sure :-)  Will start looking for work in August probably, wish me luck!!

Speaking of enjoying Summer, last week we did just that and went on our first family camping trip with our brand new tent!!

Of course NO camping trip would be complete without S'mores . . . so we had them every night!!  Yummy!!  Mommy ran the S'mores station, setting up the graham crackers and chocolate while the kids roasted the marshmallows, seeing who could get the bestest golden one :-)

This next photo has to be my favourite of the whole trip though - my view from  my camp chair after the kids were in bed.  Hubby and I had a drink (or two!) sitting in front of the fire with puppy resting at our feet.  Good quality time together :-)
Oh, and can you see my nice flip flop tan line?!!

Sydney LOVES to camp!  Even at 13 years old now, she still loves it - but check out her nice set up, no wonder she loves it!

She loves it so much she didn't want to leave and staged a protest by laying right in the middle of the tent when we were trying to pack it up!!!  Love my camping dog!!  She even looks sad here too!

Ok, so how about some Let's Scrap sketches and layouts now??!!

I made this card to send to my sister and brother-in-law to congratulate them on the birth of their first baby!! A baby boy, Coleton!!!  He is a sweetie and we can't wait to meet him this summer!!  This Echo Park line is so perfect for scrapping some future pics of him too ;-)

I love this sketch and will definitely use it again, as I'd like to do a layout sticking a little closer to the sketch.  For this current layout though, I took some creative liberty with the sketch to make it work better for my multiple photos.

I also finally used the Dream Pop paper from CTMH's May promotion.  LOVE this paper!!!  The embossed cardstock is sooooo cool and I just love all the bright colours :-)

Well that's all for now!!  I can hear the wind really picking up outside and there have been power outages all day here so I should sign off quickly before I lose the whole post!

Happy Scrappin'!!
