I don't often do home decor with paper crafts, but when I saw this wooden wall hanging by Adorn It arrive in the store I KNEW I had to do a class with it! Well this past Friday was the class, and this is what we all created:
We used Bo Bunny's Somewhere In Time paper, I just love the blues, browns and gold tones together!
Thank you to all the lovely ladies who joined me for this class, it was a real blast crafting with you!! You are all super talented :-)
One of the flowers we used to decorate this wall hanging is a handmade one, and my favourite to make. Here is a quick little photo tutorial on how to make them:
Choose two to three different sized circle or scallop circle punches.
Using your pattern paper scraps punch two or three different sized circles - all the same pattern or different, does not matter.
Mist the three circles with a bit of water so they are damp but not wet.
The water makes the paper more malleable, and you are going to crumple each circle, separately, into a ball.
Then flatten them out.
Stack them as desired, pierce a hole in the center and secure with a brad.
Lift and crumple each separate layer into the center . . .
so you end up with a "bud" like so . . .
then carefully pull down each layer and shape as desired.
Ink up the edges for a distressed, more dimensional look.
As the paper dries the flower hardens and keeps it's shape.
Ta da! That's it, easy, peasey!
