NEW 2016/17 Annual Inspirations Idea Book from Close To My Heart!

Well, I am a little behind the eight ball on this announcement, but the new Annual Inspirations Idea Book is out for Close To My Heart . . . and my first order is in!!!  Yay!  There is nothing more exciting than a box full of new scrapbooking goodies arriving on your doorstep!  I cannot wait to dig in and create with some of the new stuff - maybe even host a workshop or two???   Anyone interested?!
Here is the beautiful cover of the book - highlighting the new Cricut cartridge, Flower Market Collection.  Now, I'm still in the dark ages with my little mini Cricut bug, so I've not gotten to play with this cartridge yet, but my goodness the projects I've seen from other consultants so far are truly breathtaking!  I see a new Cricut in my future . . .

As always, CTMH does not disappoint and have introduced new colours . . .

New fundamental paper collections - I was skeptical at first at this step away from the typical pattern paper packs, but again, the artwork coming out from everyone is stunning and my first two packs; Adventure and Enchantment, are on their way - stay tuned!!!

New organizational products too!

Our family is currently house hunting (yes, again!  but finally to own again, so yay!) and I've got my fingers and toes crossed for a craft room again (not like my current fancy furnace room, lol!).  If this wish comes true, these new stackables will be on my shopping list!

One Girl, One Boy; Two Double Layouts That Make Me Smile!

This first layout is of my son, who loves to try and NOT smile for the camera - but loses as soon as I tickle him!  I love this kids big, dimpled smiles so much, even if I have to work for them almost every time!
I made this layout using Creative Scrapbooker's Double The Fun sketch for Summer 2016 but missed the submission deadline - so sharing it here, lol! :-)
I used Bella Blvd's Colour My World star paper as background and randomly painted in the stars using CTMH ink and a water brush.  Imperfection in the painting was my goal, I just wanted the random water colour look.

The black dots are splattered on randomly using Imagine Crafts "irRESISTible" Pico Embellisher in Tuxedo Black.  I take the lid off and tap the tube end to "splat" or drip onto the page.  Love the effect as it looks like enamel dots, drying glossy and raised.

This next layout is of my darling daughter, my oldest and my free spirited performer!  You'll rarely see this girl without a smile, and even more rarely not see her dancing, flipping or bending!  She takes after her Dad and cannot sit still!  Fairly sure she was born walking on her toes, lol!
This is her practicing her cart wheels while her brother played baseball - and apparently shoes were slowing her down!

LOVE the paper and embellishments for this layout.  The bright colours of KaiserCrafts "Fly Free" were perfect for these photos, and Chicaniddy's enamel words were the perfect addition.

My two favourite subjects to scrapbook, my babies of course!  Thankfully there is an endless supply of photos of them to keep me creatively busy! :-)
Thanks for stopping by!

UYOP layouts

The Use Your Own Product (UYOP) workshop I took in Calgary Jan.30th was just as amazing as the last 3 I took!  Jennifer from Scrapbookin' Adventures is a fabulous designer and instructor, and whether you've known her 5 minutes or 5 years, she makes you feel like you've been friends forever!
Once again, if you have never taken one of these workshops, I cannot recommend it enough!

Since that weekend I've been chipping away at adding those finishing touches to all my layouts (and finishing the ones I didn't get to that day, cuz, well, I just talk too much, lol!), and wanted to share a few.  Since I am predominantly a double pager, I turned most of the layouts into doubles, so in the long run I end up with closer to 40 layouts than 20!

This one still needs journalling, and I will be adding some CTMH Flip Flaps to it to get more photos on, but I just LOVE how much this layout highlights both the pattern paper and photos!

Don't tell my DD, but I think this layout (the one double Jennifer had prepared, so really the class was 21 layouts), was my absolute favourite!  This Simple Stories line was just perfect for misc. photos of my adorable - sorry, handsome and cool! - son :-)

And another favourite is this layout of my crazy parents.  I confess, it is actually a re-make.  I had participated in a layout swap years ago and added these photos to it, but recently while flipping thru my albums, I noticed that that layout was falling apart.  The adhesive was not of good quality and had lost it's stick completely, when I pulled the layouts out of the page protectors the fell completely apart!  Whoops!  Good reminder, scrappers, to use good quality adhesive for your projects, not only so that they stay together for years to come, but that your photos are protected.
Luckily, I'm quite happy that the original layout fell apart, as I LOVE the way this one turned out!

LOL!  I'm sure my parents will love that I posted these photos too!  Love these goofballs! XO

Hoping to get some more layouts finished up this weekend to share next week.  Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Scrappin'!
