CTMH's New Spring/Summer 2013 Idea Book Sneek Peek!!

It is just about that time again . . . time for a new Idea Book from Close To My Heart!  The Spring/Summer 2013 issue goes live to customers on February 1st!!

As a consultant we get to order a month before the Idea Book is released, and though I couldn't fit much into my budget this time, I did get a few items that I started to play with last night - and let me tell you, you will not be disappointed!!  My favourite part is always the embellishments and I swear they just keep getting better and better with each Idea Book!

CTMH is great at keeping on trend with what is hot today, and the new Slate Polka-Dot Washi Tape and silver or black adhesive backed Shimmer Trim do not disappoint!!  Haven't used the Washi tape on anything specific yet, but did up a couple layouts last night incorporating the silver Shimmer Trim and WOW!!!  I am officially on board the decorative tape train, people - are you joining me?!

Here is a CTMH project that has used the silver Shimmer tape:

I wanted to post a sneek peek of my upcoming workshop here too, as it uses the above paper along with the silver Shimmer tape as well, but still experiencing some editing hiccups so I'll get them posted tomorrow or later this evening.  Instead I'll just share with you some more of the new Idea Book!!!

These are all projects done by CTMH, not myself - although I'm certainly planning on lifting a few of these!!

Buzz and Bumble:

Later Sk8r:

Surf's Up!:

Which one is your favourite??  Mine is the Later Sk8r!  So perfect for my son!  Was also surprised by the Surf's Up and Tommy papers - wasn't sure I liked them at first, till I had them in my hot little hands and then I fell in love!  But that always happens - everything always looks better IRL (look at me text talking, I'm getting so cool!).

Still big after debuting in the Autumn/Winter Idea Book is the Cricut Artiste Collection (Z1790):

For only $99 you get the cartridge with 700 Images (Font, Basic Shapes, and 3-D Items), 3 My Acrylix D-size Stamp Sets, and 3 12"x9" Dimensional Elements (chipboard) in coordinating shapes!!!  What a deal!

Also still hot is the newest How-To book, Make It From Your Heart Volume 1 (9035):

This latest addition to the Close To My Heart How-To books is only $7.95 and features 16 two-page layout patterns, 2 single page layout patterns, and 12 different card patterns.  There is no guess work with CTMH layout patterns, every piece and photo is labelled with dimensions and instructions for placement - copy it directly or let your imagination take hold!
Well there is your sneek peek for today, I hope you enjoyed seeing what's coming!  If you are local and need an Idea Book come Feb.1st, let me know and I'll arrange to get one to you.  If you are not local you can log onto my website anytime on or after February 1st, www.andreagreen.ctmh.com and click on "Products" then "Idea Books" and select the Spring/Summer 2013 issue.  Make your wish list and then shop online anytime!!

You Melt my Heart

Well I am still playing around with my new laptop trying to figure out what has suddenly changed for me with uploading photos to this blog and also to Facebook.  I think I figured out the Facebook issues, though in my opinion not really cuz although I got my photos uploaded I had way more steps to take to get them there than before - so we'll call it a minor victory for now.
As for posting here, well I am still struggling.  Some photos will post via Photobucket copy and paste, others won't.  Fussy, fussy.  So not able to get the photos I originally wanted to post for you this evening, but got some that are at least in the same spirit!
Both yestarday and today I took my kiddos sledding across the street at the park.  Not huge hills, but just big enough to entertain my 5 and 8 year old for a few hours :-)  The weather here was just absolutely beautiful - and is supposed to continue so for the weekend, yay! - and the kids had no school today, so sledding was a great way to spend the day for sure.  I think I took close to 200 photos so I'll have some weeding to do!
Last year was the first time my kids ever went sledding.  Being from Vancouver we never really got much snow, and if we did it did not stay long, so sledding opportunities were few and far between and didn't always come at convenient times.  However, we got some good snow there last winter (not like here in Edmonton, but good for the lower mainland for sure!) and the kids got to go sledding a couple of times.  The layout below was after one of these days and they were warming up with some hot chocolate.
I used paper and embellishments mostly from Bo Bunny, and loved that beautiful glittery paper! Didn't want to use too many photos cuz had to show off the paper and those big, glittery snowflakes!
The colouring in this close up shot is a little off cuz I photographed it on my lino floor with poor lighting, but I had fun mix n' matching some of my Thickers stash for the title.
This layout doesn't have anything to do with the kids sledding adventures, but thought I'd share it as well.  My son got this Boston hoodie from his Great Grandparents and for some reason ALWAYS had to wear the hood up - like all the time!  Now no matter what hoodie he wears, he has the hood up - my future little hoodlum!!  I took these photos when his sister was trying to mimic him by putting on a sweater with a hood too.  Then of course, being raised with a camera in their face 24/7, they hammed it up!  I'll take it though, as I know all too soon they may not let me take their picture together.
Well I hope you are all keeping warm and cozy, and enjoy the weekend!  Family trip to the Ice Festival tomorrow and the West Edmonton Mall Water Park on Sunday, should prove to be a fun filled weekend for me - better charge my camera batteries!

Why is it doing this???!!!

Ok, so fist off I couldn't even get my photos to upload to Blogger unless I copied and pasted a link from Photobucket.  Now, I have turned off my Google+ setup (at least I think I did) and I can get the photo to upload now, but it's posting in it's original version not the editted version!  Argh!  Have I mentioned how much I hate computers??!!
Any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Back to Let's Scrap!

Ahhhh!  So I just finished doing a nice long post here and then tried to delete a photo that didn't work and I ended up deleting the whole flippin' post!!  So once again, being that I'm sitting in a freezing cold basement and my fingers are going numb, I'm gonna keep this short and sweet!!

I had been away from Let's Scrap for awhile but receently returned to this amazing site.  I just love the wonderfully talented peeps over there and those sketches always get my creative juices going :-)  Here are last weeks and this weeks sketches and my takes on them:

This past week's sketch is a card sketch but I decided to do a single page layout.

Aaaaaaannnnd of course now my computer isn't letting me enlarge the next few photos!  Argh!  Wish sometimes I understood computers better - just holding out hope that the laptop I'm getting soon will be more user friendly for me . . .

And one more sketch and layout for good measure, cuz although I can't enlarge them, my uploader was actually working for me tonight so I went with it!!

With that, I am headed upstairs to snuggle up with my hubby and a warm blanket!!

Fabulous Flashback

One of my absolute favourite scrapbook lines out there right now has got to be Simple Stories!  They just never disappoint and it's all I can do to keep from buying every single item from every single line!!   Well "Fabulous" was one of those lines that just screamed my daughter's name when I saw it and here is just one of the many layouts I did with it:

These photo booth pics were taken at West Edmonton Mall when my daughter was just 6 months old, and I just love them!

Avonlea Workshop

Happy Hump Day!  (That means Wednesday, middle of the week folks, nothin' dirty here!).
Finally have all my latest workshop photos edited and ready to share.  Did I mention my workshop space is in an unfinished basement?  Did I mention it's winter here in Edmonton?!  I am freezing my buns off right now and it's hard to type - so I'm just gonna post the photos and then go and get me a hot chocolate to warm up!
Close To My Heart's Avonlea paper and embellishments - my January Workshop - $30 for the class, $35 for the "Scrap Away" kit (includes instructions and shipping within Canada).
Gotta get a close up of the gorgeous Canvas stickers:
MMMM, I love this paper!  So elegant and versatile.  I have some wonderful generational photos I plan to use with these so I embellished towards the heritage side, but you can easily change that up to suit your photos :-)

A sneek peek . . .

Well don'tcha just wish that the days had a few more hours in them sometimes?  I am soooo not a morning person so tend to cram everything into my afternoons and evenings, and today I ran out of time to get everything I wanted done!  Upside?  Nothing on the docket for tomorrow so I'll catch up then!  Until then, here is a sneek peek of tomorrow's post . . .

Teacher Gifts

Happy 2013!!  Only 10 days in for me to get my first post in ;-)  In my defense I've only been back in town for five days . . .

Wanted to share with you the cards that I made for my kids teachers this Christmas.  I've been told teachers go thru alot of cards, so for the last two years this is what I have done - made up a half dozen blank cards.  Oh, and we also gave them some wine - apparently that is a good gift to give too!

I got the kids to ask their teachers what their favourite colour was and made customized the card design to each of their favourite colours:

**  Ok, got it to work!  Had to copy and paste from Photobucket but got em!

Happy Scrappin'!
