First 10 Days of Elf on The Shelf 2014 - A New Arrival!

Well, last year my kids got their wish - for another elf to join in the adventures of Dazzle!  So Razzle, the girl elf, joined in the Elf Mischief this Christmas season.
Their arrival was hilarious!  Hot air ballooning into the living room - the kids underwear as their baskets! LOL!

Arrival Day:

Day Two:  Do you want to build a snowman?!

Day Three:  Attack of the Washi Tape!

Day Four: Toilet paper roll races down the stairs!

Day Five:  A little swinging fun!

Day Six:  Razzle and Dazzle would like Christmas baking to begin!

Day Seven:  Fishing!

Day Eight:  Sugar rush!  Found the candy and syrup in the pantry!

Day Nine:  Decorated the entry mirror with mini bows.

Day Ten:  Didn't move, left a note and contract for the kids to sign - sometimes these elves are a great help to Mom and Dad!

So did the kids stop fighting?  Did the elves move again?  Stay tuned for the final 10 days of Elf mischief 2014!

Merry Christmas!

Close To My Heart - Zoe Layouts

Well, I suppose it's about time I got some scrapbooking posted!  I have been getting a fair amount scrapped again, it's been nice after a long creative drought.  The first bunch of layouts I got done were back in September/October using Close To My Hearts Zoe collection.  I loved how fun this collection was, and with the addition of some Whimsy Fundamental Stickers, these are the four layouts:

This layout still needs the journalling, but I just love the collection of photos of my daughter!  I used a 3x3 flip flap on the one with the twine to add two more photos as well - flip flaps are probably my all time favourite CTMH product!

How gorgeous is that Coral Shimmer Trim too?!  Perfect touch to all the layouts, and I still have so much left!

Want to create with this beautiful and cheery kit too?  Log on HERE and order:

G1096 Zoe Workshop on the Go;  Z3123 Green Triangles Enamel & Glitter Duos;  X7197C Zoe Complements;  Z3165 Whimsy Fundamental Sticker Packs;  Z2173 Slate Exclusive Inks stamp pad

Happy Scrappin'!

Elf on The Shelf Day Eleven - #Elfies!

Day Eleven for Dazzle The Elf on The Shelf gets a post all to itself.  Dazzle got a hold of my iphone and took a whole bunch of #Elfies!  The kids were stumped as to why Dazzle didn't seem to move from the night before . . . then Mom picked up her phone and was in for a big surprise!  LOL!

Here are just a few of the best ones:

The last two are of course my favourite!  I was so afraid they would wake up while I was taking the photo - be wary of this if you try with your own kids, I do not recommend it if they are light sleepers.

Now, what will day 12 bring?!

Merry Christmas!

Dazzle - The Elf on The Shelf Arrives!

Yay!  It's December 1st - I can officially start all things Christmas now!  My daughter's birthday is Nov.29, so when she was born I made the decision to not decorate for Christmas until after her birthday celebrations were over - I wanted to keep her birthday separate from Christmas and special to her - just as we do not decorate for Halloween until after my son's October birthday.  So December 1st is usually the first day I get to start pulling out Christmas stuff and decorating.  I had the Christmas music on this morning, and I'm about to start re-arranging furniture so the tree can go up tonight (though do not expect it to be decorated for days!).
What December also means is Elf on The Shelf will arrive!  Two years ago our family's new addition arrived one morning, to the extreme delight of my kids!  Grandma and Grandpa were the ones that decided we needed an elf and shipped one out to us - well, to me, the kids had no idea of course!  The parcel was delayed so the Elf did not appear until Dec.6th.  The following year sometime in the first week of December as well.  I have seen that most elves tend to appear just after Thanksgiving, or on Dec.1st.  Our elf has no set arrival - this way it keeps the kids guessing! ;-)

My kids were so excited to finally have their own elf (my son's class had an elf and many of their friends, so they knew all about it before Mommy even did!).
We sat down to eat our popcorn treat (stale popcorn for breakfast, don't judge!), and read the Elf on the Shelf story.  Have to cover those rules quickly or you know one of the kids will touch the elf, lol!  Then the kids picked a name for our little spy, I mean elf - Dazzle.  Quite fitting I suppose, as he was soon to "dazzle" us each morning with his quirky mischief!

Day Two:

Day Three:  Mini donuts made from Cheerios!  Still one of my kids favourites to this day.

Day Four:

Day Five:

Day Six:

Day Seven:

Day Eight:

This was a colouring page my daughter had made for Dazzle :-)

Day Nine:  The mess was worth the reaction.  And I'm surprised how easily the flour came off the elf!

Day Ten:  Ha Ha Ha!  That will teach them for not putting away their laundry!

So, admittedly, by now I am really having fun with this elf!  It does get harder to hold on to the magic of Christmas as your children get older (and yourself I suppose!), so Dazzle was a great addition this year for sure.

Stay tuned for more Elf mischief from 2013, 2014, and then this year!

Merry Christmas!
